UNDERSTANDING TRAMPOLINE PARK INJURIES AND THE SHOCK ADVANTAGE
Decoding the Physics of Injuries
Trampoline park injuries most frequently arise when a user inadvertently lands on the padding that overlays the rigid trampoline frame. This type of incident typically results in rapid deceleration, which can place extreme stress on the body upon impact. Optimally, a jumper should experience a smooth deceleration, facilitated by the stretching springs when landing squarely on the trampoline mat. However, landing on the surrounding steel frame, covered by a mere two-inch foam pad, provides a starkly different, more abrupt deceleration due to the limited cushioning distance of up to 2 inches.
The Five-Foot Scenario: Calculating Impact on standard parks vs. Shock Parks
Consider a jumper reaching heights of five feet when jumping on a trampoline. Upon a fall from this height, the acceleration induced by gravity (21.94 miles per hour per second) means a descent at a speed of approximately 17.29 miles per hour. A sudden impact on the trampoline pad from this speed over just two inches of pad thickness can generate immense G-forces. In reality, where a foam pad might compress to about one quarter of an inch under strain, the rapid deceleration can expose the body to upwards of 34.27 G’s of force.
Speed = sq. root of 2 * height * acceleration
However, with the integration of Shock’s patented shock-absorbing trampoline frame, which adds four additional inches of deceleration space (+2” foam pad protection), the impact force can be notably reduced to around 10.47 G’s—a substantial decrease compared to a standard configuration of straight steel trampoline frame with only a 2-inch-thick pad (34.27 G’s).
Deceleration = velocity² divided by the distance * 2
Why Choose Shock: Beyond Standard Design
Creating exemplary products within the trampoline park industry requires more than generic innovation; it demands a profound understanding of physics, an unyielding commitment to safety, and a visionary approach to functional design. Shock Trampoline Parks rises above conventional designs by addressing the fundamental shortcomings that predispose these recreational spaces to frequent injuries and operational problems.
We don't get bogged down with redundant details. Our focus remains on addressing the primary concerns—reducing trampoline injuries and maintenance woes. Our over-engineered frames incorporate patented German shock attenuation technology, ensuring durability and reducing operational headaches. Creating the ultimate safer jumping experience.
- Having understood the pitfalls of traditional straight steel designs notorious since the inception in 1959, Shock has innovatively redesigned the trampoline structure to not only reduce liability but also to redefine the safety norms in industry practices. Safety is our #1 PRIORITY.
At Shock, every design underpins not only innovation but a stringent testing protocol in real operational scenarios, ensuring the design withstands the routine rigors of high-traffic trampoline parks.
Understanding the space and operational challenges park operators face, Shock uniquely designs each trampoline structure to maximize per inch of your facility space. Increasing operational efficiency with optimal design layouts created by expert operators while significantly enhancing your ROI compared to traditional, less flexible cookie cutter designs.
At Shock Trampoline Parks, we go beyond mere manufacturing—our systems epitomize the pinnacle of design ingenuity, operational efficiency, and unmatched safety, providing a competitive edge that is simply unrivaled in the trampoline park industry. Welcome to the ultimate competitive edge!
